Dr. ROSA FLORES, DMFT, MA, MAC, CAC III

My name is Rosa Flores.

I am originally from Mexico.

My job as a psychotherapist is to provide emotional support for Couples, families, and/or individuals who struggle with relationship issues, depression, low self-esteem, anxiety, infidelities, gay and lesbian issues, addiction problems, communication issues with the spouse or partner- or with any other family member-; difficulties dealing with any form of trauma (sexual, domestic abuse, accidents) etc.

My services are both, in English and in Spanish.

My approach is Client Centered-Humanistic approach with the use of other therapeutic models; such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, Solution Focused therapy, Family Systems theories; Motivational Interviewing Style of therapy, etc.

I have a Doctor’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology. I started providing psychotherapy services15 years ago when I finished my Master program, in San Francisco, California, and I continued to do the same after my Doctorate program, which I completed in 2012. I have served the Latino community and/or other communities for issues related to depression, anxiety, intimacy, gay and lesbian related issues, among other issues.

Through the years, I have accumulated other certificates that have allowed me to support these communities better. I am an Addiction Counselor level III (with the State of Colorado), a Certified Eating Disorder Therapist (CEDT); a Clinical Sexologist (DAACS) with the American board of Clinical Sexology; a Certified Sand Play Therapist, and Certified Systemic Play Therapist.

In 2017, I was granted the Master’s Degree in Addiction Counseling (MAC) through the National Certification Commission for Addiction Professionals (NCCAP).
